Ranchi Rays have won the third edition of Hockey India League today by defeating Jaypee Punjab Warriors in the final match played at Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. Ranchi wins the title in the penalty shootout by 3-2 as after regulation time both teams were at 2-2 score level.
This is the first tournament for Ranchi Rays which is owned by Indian Cricket Team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Ranchi Rays captain Ashley Jackson was awarded Hero Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. After winning HIL 2015, Jackson thanked owners MS Dhoni and Sahara for their support to the team.
