Fifa Women’s world cup seventh edition is going to be held in Canada from 6 June to 5 July 2015. Japan is the defending champion in 2015 Fifa women’s world championship. A total of 24 countries are participating in the event and six major cities of Canada to host women’s football world cup.
Mascot
Federation International de Football Association (FIFA) unveiled official mascot for women’s world cup on June 18, 2014 at Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa. The mascot will be known as ‘Shueme’ which a great white owl.
Venues
The 6 major Canadian cities Vancouver, Moncton, Edmonton, Montreal, Winnipeg and Ottawa will be prepared by May to host Women’s Fifa world cup in 2015. 52 matches will be hosted in six stadiums of these cities.

Prize
FIFA increased the winner prize money for 2015 women’s world cup from previous tournament’s 1$ million to 2$ million. The total increment in the prize money for competition is 5$ million.

Teams
FIFA has extended the number of playing teams in women’s football world cup from 16 to 24. Canada was the first nation who qualified for tournament when they won the bid to host 2015 Fifa women’s world cup. Rest 23 teams come from various qualification rounds and latest Fifa rankings are also considered for the qualification process.

The draw for women’s fifa world cup was held on 6 December 2014 which produced the 24 teams in six groups of tournament. Hosts Canada is in group A with Netherlands, China PR and New Zealand. The first match of 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup is scheduled to be played between Canada and China PR on June 6, 2014. Commonwealth Stadium will host the inaugural game of competition. Final match of women’s fifa world championship 2015 will be held on 5th July at BC Place.
