Zimbabwe cricket team will be facing United Arab Emirates in the eighth match of ICC world cup 2015 on 19 February at Nelson. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 local time and 22:00 GMT. Elton Chigumbura will be leading Zimbabwean side whereas UAE to play under Mohammad Tauqir’s captaincy. This is a pool B game.
If we talk about last 5-5 matches for both the teams, Zimbabwe has worst record as they lost all played five previous matches whereas UAE won four matches out of 5.

It was really great first match for Zimbabwe against South Africa and they really played good cricket throughout the 90 overs of game. They took early wickets of strong Proteas batting line up and also batted well in the chase of 340. ZIM got succeed to score 277 runs against South Africa’s pacey bowling line-up. Captain Elton Chigumbura also accepted that fact.
Chigumbura said, “It was a bit of both, a confidence boost the way we played, and obviously it’s always disappointing to play the way we did for 90 overs but we didn’t manage to finish off the last ten overs.”
Zimbabwe has got good confidence as they defeated Sri Lanka in the warm-up match. So it will be interesting to see how they perform against UAE.
Masakadza, Taylor, Chibhabha and Chigumbura will be having huge responsibility to make big runs and put pressure on United Arab Emirates. This is going to be first meet between these two sides in a One-Day match. So Zimbabwe will have opportunity to win this as they are much experienced side than UAE.
UAE
Though United Arab Emirates batting was failed against Australia and got all out on only 116 runs in 30 overs but they batted well against Afghanistan. UAE was chasing 307 score and made 294 in which Khurram Khan played vital role. So once against team will be relying a lot on him to contribute good runs against Zimbabwe.
