West Indies cricket team has made record twenty20 chase at The New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Caribbean team beat South Africa in an exciting t20 thriller by 4 wickets. The second match of series was a high score game and West Indies chased 232 runs target in 19.2 overs with 4 wickets in hand. This is the highest successful run chase in T20 history. West Indies won three t20 match series by 2-0.

A total of 467 runs were scored in 39.2 overs. Batting first South Africa made 231 runs in 20 overs. Skipper Faf du Plessis made his maiden t20 ton. He scored 119 runs in 56 balls but his hundred celebrations were ended when Caribbean batsmen give them bitter taste of defeat in the match. Du Plessis also meant it at the end of match in presentation.

Faf du Plessis said, “It’s my T20 International hundred. You don’t think it would come along but it’s very very bitter sweet.”

Chris Gayle shines again in West Indies inning and he made handy 90 runs in 41 balls with seven 6s and nine 4s. He completed 50 in 20 balls. Along with Gayle, Marlon Samuels also played match winning inning for West Indies. Both added 156 runs partnership for the second wicket. Samuels made 60 in 39 balls. Chris Gayle hits fast fifty in last t20 match as well.

Kayle Abbott is the most expensive bowler in the game. He gave 68 runs in 4 overs quota.

After both these players returned to pavilion WI was in trouble and lost quick wickets too. But captain Darren Sammy confirmed the victory by hitting six at the end. Chris Gayle was named man of the match for his match winning 90. Gayle said in presentation that he was hurt in the morning when he saw declared West Indies world cup 2015 squad and didn’t find Bravo and Pollard.

After match Gayle said, “I am glad we won the series. I woke up to the WC squad this morning. No Pollard & No Bravo. I was really really hurt.”

Darren Sammy was happy to win the match. He said we were ready to show Proteas that why we won 2012 T20 world cup. He also praised South African team and players.

Sammy said, “It means a lot. South Africa is a good team. We decided to show why we have won the T20 World Cup.”

“Miller is like the Chris in the South African team. It was a good game of cricket. They were all under the pump. This is the beauty of T20. We back the guys in the dressing room. It’s great to have Chris but we all contributed,” he added.
