Vietnam national football federation is looking to secure berth in 2026 football world cup. The 48-team world cup will see 7 to 8 teams from Asia continent and Vietnam team is eyeing to get there.
Federation’s vice president Tran Quoc Tuan has made comment on national news channel that his country would give their best to be the party of football’s biggest championship, the world cup.
“Vietnam and other countries and regions in Southeast Asia have a great chance to play in the world’s biggest football tournament. Besides national senior teams, we will invest in Under-15 and Under-18 footballers to help us earn a place in the tournament,” Tuan said.

United States, Mexico and Canada will host the 2026 world cup which will be played in it’s traditional June-July period. The 48 teams will be categorized into 16 groups each comes with three nations.
