Uruguay national football team roster has been announced as confederation declared 23-member squad for the forthcoming 2019 Copa America competition in Brazil. Star footballer from Barcelona Luis Suarez is included in the team although he is not fit.
Team head coach Oscar Tabarez is confident that Suarez is a professional footballer and he’ll be fit before the start of tournament. “He’s very professional and has a good history in other types of recovery,” Oscar said.
Uruguay has won 15 Copa America titles which is most by any country in the tournament and will be chasing 16th crown this summer in Brazil. However Uruguayan team is placed in a tough group along with two-time title defender Chile, Ecuador and guest team Japan.
Edinson Cavani, Jonathan Rodriguez and Suarez would be the front-line choices for strikers in the playing-11 lineup for Uruguay. Meanwhile Cristhian Stuani, Gaston Pereiro and Gomez are the stand by players in the squad.
