The teams in the CPL have set high standards and it has been a great event to watch with performances like these lighting up the ground.
Top CPL Performances
Chris Gayle (122 of 61)
The maverick, erratic, dangerous and hard hitting Jamaican Chris Gayle finds his place in this list for most T20 leagues in the world. He is tailor made for this format and has produced that best innings ever in the history of the CPL. In the 2013 edition of the CPL, against the Amazon Guyana Warriors at the Gros Islet, Gayle produced some brilliance that was very rarely seen. He stroked an unbeaten 122 runs in just 61 balls with 12 6’s and 5 fours. This is the highest number of maximums in a single innings. The innings however did not help his team win the game.
Simmons and Martin Guptill (154 run opening stand)
The Warriors have a very well settled batting line up and their openers have given them a great start almost every game. Guptill and Simmons complemented each other in the previous season and they produced a brilliant 154 partnership for the 1st wicket. Simmons scored 97 and Guptill scored 66 as the St Lucia Zouks were handed a surprising defeat after setting a target of 189. This partnership was one of the highlights in the last season of the CPL.
Sakib-al-Hasan (6-6)
One of the best all rounders to have played the sport from the nation of Bangladesh, Sakib is one of the most prestigious asset in domestic T20 leagues. He has the quality and ability to win games single handedly. In the 1st edition of the CPL he produced a brilliant bowling performance against the Trinidad and Tobago team as they slumped to a score of 52 all out. Sakib picked six wickets in the game and ended up with figures of 4 over’s, 1 maiden, 6 for 6. This still remains the best bowling figures in the league.

Chris Gayle (111 from 63)
Yet another smashing innings from Gayle, this century at the St George’s was one of the best in his career. The Zouks gave the Tallawahs an average target of 162. Gayle and his team started the game in fine fashion with both openers going after the bowlers. The innings from Gayle of 111 runs from just 63 balls involved 10 sixes and 5 boundaries. It gave his team an easy victory as they chased the score down comfortably with an over to spare.
Dwayne Smith (110 of 69)
The hard hitting opening batsman for the West Indies, Dwayne Smith has the ability to play great strokes with minimum effort. He has matured into a very consistent player and has learned to play for the team. He has produced some great performances for the national team and also in the Caribbean Premier League. His unbeaten century of just 66 balls against the Zouks at Bridgetown in the last season is one his finest innings. He tonked the ball all around the park as the tridents posted 189 in the first innings. Smith’s innings of 110 of 69 balls gave his team a victory on the day and is still regarded as one of the finest T20 innings in the league.
