Sydney 6ers has defeated Adelaide Strikers in the first semifinal match of 2014-15 big bash league to reach in the final. It was one sided show from Sixers to make it in the final as they beat ADS by 87 runs big margin in a twenty20 semifinal. Sydney Sixers batsman Nic Maddinson was the star in the match as he made 85 runs and was named Man of the Match.
In the chase of 182 runs whole Adelaide Strikers side dismissed in 14.3 overs after scoring just 94. It was a combine bowling effort from Sydney Sixers as Bollinger took 3 wickets, Abbott, Lyon and O’Keefe shared two-two wickets each. Former Australian legend and pace bowler Brett Lee took one wicket in the match.
Before this Sydney 6ers put up a big score of 181 runs in 20 overs after winning the toss. Openers Lumb and Wessels gave firing start and hit ball all over the park. Michael Lumb made 32 runs in 19 balls before getting run out. After this Wessels and Maddinson played sensibly to take team’s total past 70 in 9 overs. Shaun Tait bowled Wessels on 24 score.
Nic Maddinson and Henriques started to build the inning and played some great shoots especially Maddinson. He scored brilliant 85 before getting dismissed by Richardson to take his team’s total 181 in this crucial knockout game.
Sydney Sixers are now through to the finals where they’ll face winner of second semifinal which is going to be played tomorrow between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars.
