After BCCI has announced that Sachin, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly will be in the panel of the advisory committee, they now have a role much suited for Rahul Dravid. Espncricinfo is reporting that Rahul Dravid is all set to coach Under 19 Indian cricket team.
The report also says that Dravid was approached for role in the advisory committee as well, but he rejected it as he wanted a better role.
Rahul Dravid is seen as someone who has enjoyed working with younger players and those who are yet to emerge on the big stage.

He has provided opportunities to younger players at Rajasthan Royals and has built a team which doesn’t include star players but has horses for courses.
Players like Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda and Karun Nair excelled playing under him and he was the one who provided them opportunities. Not only these, Ajinkya Rahane matured as a player when he started playing for Rajasthan Royals. He opened the batting for RR along with Rahul Dravid and it was then when he started respecting his wicket and did put a lot of value onto it.
Rahul Dravid also worked as a mentor for the Indian Cricket team for a short span of time last year and the players were impressed with him and spoke very high of him.
Even reports say that BCCI is planing to appoint Rahul Dravid as the coach of the Indian Cricket team but Dravid is not willing to take up that role. The main reason cited for that is the traveling issue. The role of the coach of the Indian cricket team will include a lot of traveling and Dravid is not willing to do it.
Dravid has a young family and he wants to spend time with them, after having stayed away from them for most part of his cricketing career.
Under 19 coaching will involve lesser traveling as they have less tours and most of the work will be done at NCA ( National Cricket Academy, Bangalore).
