Sri Lanka team may get big blow in the world cup 2015 journey as their front line spinner Rangana Herath got serious injury during last match against England. He got finger injury while trying to catch the ball on his own bowling in the 49th over of innings. Herath got four stitches in that finger. Seekkuge Prasanna has been sent to Australia as stand by for Herath.
Sri Lanka Cricket Board mentioned this in a press release.

The statement said, “Seekkuge Prasanna will go to Australia as a stand by for Rangana Herath. Rangana split his finger during the England v Sri Lanka match and the wound will expected take 7-10 days to heal. Seekkuge sent to Australia only as a precautionary measure.”
Australia will be up against Sri Lanka in the Sunday’s match and Herath is doubtful to be a part of Sri Lankan playing 11 in that match. If trainers and medical report goes against him and situation occurs that Herath has to rule out from tournament, Prasanna will be representing Sri Lanka in the rest match of 2015 world cup.
Seekkuge Prasanna played last One-Day Internationals against New Zealand in recently concluded series in January.
