Officially ICC postponed T20 World Cup 2020

International Cricket Council have officially postponed this year’s men’s ICC T20 World Cup to be played in Australia between 18 October and 15 November 2020. With the postponement, ICC also released the calendar for next three men’s event in the upcoming years upto 2023.

Next ICC t20 world cup men’s will be played in October and November in 2021 with final is scheduled for 14th November.

Men’s Twenty20 World Cup will also be held in year 2022 and it will also be played in October-November window with final to take place on 13th November.

Men’s 2023 ODI world cup will be hosted in India in the October-November time period and final to be played on 26 November 2023.

“The decision to postpone the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was taken after careful consideration of all of the options available to us and gives us the best possible opportunity of delivering two safe and successful T20 World Cups for fans around the world,” ICC chief executive Manu Sawhney said.

Australia saw coronavirus cases rises in the past few weeks and this enforced ICC to take decision to take tournament cancelled this year. Now two ICC T20 world cups will be played in the successive years in 2021 and 2022. India is due to host 2021 t20 world cup but now it will be interesting to see what ICC council decides on these two tournaments organization countries.

ICC also changed the dates of 50-over world cup 2023 to be played in India as now event to be held in October and November.
