India’s most successful ODI and T20 captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has declared retirement from test cricket.

Honorable BCCI Secretary Sanjay Patel said, “One of India’s greatest Test Captains under whose leadership India became the No. 1 team in the Test Rankings MS Dhoni, has decided to retire from Test Cricket citing the strain of playing all formats of Cricket.”
As per media release Dhoni retired from test cricket as he wants to focus on twenty20 and ODI matches.
BCCI respected Dhoni’s decision and thanked him what he has given to the country. In media release BCCI said, “BCCI while respecting the decision of M S Dhoni to retire from Test Cricket, wishes to thank him for his enormous contribution to Test Cricket and the laurels that he has brought to India.”
MSD has captained Indian cricket team in 60 tests. India won 27 tests, lost 18 games under Dhoni’s captaincy. He has represented India in 90 matches in which he scored 4876 runs with in average of 38.09. MS Dhoni’s highest score in test cricket is 224. In Dhoni’s captaincy India achieved success as well in tests and team secured first position in test cricket rankings.
Former cricketer and captain Sourav Ganguly has already mentioned that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has struggled as captain in tests.
