Current Pakistan ODI team captain Misbah-Ul-Haq will not play One Day matches after completion of cricket world cup in Australia and New Zealand. He informed his decision to Pakistan Cricket Board and one official gave Misbah’s future plans information in a release. He said Misbah is looking forward to play test cricket and will lead Pak in upcoming test series against India, Sri lanka and England.
“He is keen to lead Pakistan in the Test series against Sri Lanka, England and India this year,” Official said.
Misbah didn’t announce his ODI retirement news from himself and tell PCB to disclose it. Before few days back Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi declared his retirement himself from ODIs after 2015 world cup.
Official said, “Unlike Shahid Afridi who went ahead and announced he would retire from one-day internationals after the World Cup Misbah has said he would like to do it through the board.

Now PCB is looking for new One Day captain and asked chief selector and coach to suggest captain for Pakistan national cricket team in ODIs.
“We are now basically looking at appointing a younger captain from amongst the current lot of players. But after Misbah and Shahid we expect Younis might also decide to quit ODIs after the mega event,” he added.
“He is also going to take a fitness test tomorrow and even if he is not fit in time for the World Cup than obviously we have other options to lead the team in mind including Shahid Afridi and some others.”
