Iraq soccer team has defeated Iran football team in the third quarterfinal match of Australian Asian Cup 2015. They beat Iran in the penalties by 7-6 score to qualify for the semi-final match against South Korea.
Iran’s Sardar Azmoun scored the first goal of match in the 24th minute. At the end of first half Iran was leading by 1-0. In the second half Yasin Ghani hit goal for Iraq in 56th minute of match and scores the level. After completion of 90 minutes, both teams were at 1-1 score and nobody wanted to lose the game as semifinal was in the eyes for both rosters.
In the extra time Younis Mahmoud scores the goal for Iraq in 93rd minute to lead by 2-1. It was an interesting game and both sides didn’t want to lose. Morteza Pouraliganji took Iran team to the second goal of match and scored the goal in 103rd min. The match was going in penalties but again the game was turn-around and Dhurgham Ismail scored the goal for Iraq in penalty to get lead in the match by 3-2. He hit goal in the 116th minute.
Iraq was just going to win the match but but but.. again twist came in the match and Reza Ghoochannejhad scores the goal for Iran in 119th minute. This takes final score at 3-3 level and match was in penalty.
In penalty shootout Iraq beat Iran by 7-6 score to win the 3rd quarterfinal match played at Canberra Stadium in Canberra.
