SRH captain David Warner and opener Jonny Bairstow provided brilliant start to the side as both batsmen added 160 runs for the first wicket partnership in 15 overs after winning the toss. David Warner was dismissed for 52 runs by Ravi Bishnoi in the 16th over. In the same over, Bairstow was also returned to pavilions after smashing 97 runs in 55 balls.

Hyderabad’s middle order couldn’t capitalized on the excellent start provided by both openers.

At one stage, it seemed that Orange Army would easily cross 225 score but unfortunately they couldn’t and team managed to put 201 runs on the board in 20 overs. However 202 runs target was never easy but KXIP had hopes from their openers as both are in prime forms and are leading run scorers in the season.

Mayank Agarwal was run out in the 2nd over of the innings and hopes get shattered for Kings XI Punjab when team lost 3 wickets in the 7th over including their skipper Rahul scoring just 11 runs. Nicollas Pooran was the only highlight in KXIP innings as he made 77 runs in 37 balls that includes 7 sixes and 5 fours.
