IPL 2020: RCB rope in Mike Hesson and Simon Katich

“RCB’s purpose is to be the most trusted, respected and best performing T20 Franchise and hence our constant endeavour is to create a culture of excellence and high performance for every member of the team. To deliver this ambition we are very happy to announce the appointment of Mike Hesson and Simon Katich,” RCB chairperson Sanjeev Churiwala said.

“We believe that Mike’s extensive experience in building strong teams along with Simon’s powerful cricket experience will help us create a winning culture,” he said.

That means RCB have left coach Gary Kirsten and bowling coach Ashish Nehra.

It would be an interesting challenger for Simon Katich working with new Indian Premier League team as he was coach of KKR who appointed Brendon McCullum few weeks back for 13th IPLT20 season. Mike Hesson was associated with Kings XI Punjab last year as the head coach.

Royal Challengers were at the bottom in the points table and it will be uphill task for Hesson and Katich to get team’s top performance. Virat Kohli led team hasn’t win single IPL trophy under his leadership since 2013.
