Squads
New Zealand selectors recalled all-rounder Jimmy Neesham for all important test series. He was out from the national side since November 2015. Blackcaps are yet to win a test series in India. Hence this time New Zealand team will be looking to create history under Williamson’s captaincy.
Kiwi selector Gavin Larsen said, “Jimmy has put in a lot of work to make sure he is physically ready for a return to Test cricket. Having two pace-bowling allrounders in Jimmy and Doug Bracewell helps the balance of the squad, particularly if playing on pitches which demand a spin-heavy bowling attack.”
On the other side Indian team is coming from winning test series against West Indies and team is motivated enough to perform well under Kohli’s leadership. Currently India is ranked number 2 in ICC test rankings. From West Indies tour squad, Stuart Binny and Shardul Thakur are omitted. Meanwhile Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan are still in the side.
