The 14th edition of FIH men’s hockey world cup has been scheduled to take place in Bhubneswar from 28 November to 16 December 2018. 16 national field hockey team will be participating in hockey world cup 2018 in India. Australia is the two-time title defending champion in this year’s showpiece event at Kalinga stadium.

The first round of competition consists of 24 matches after which 4 bottom teams in every pool will be eliminated while top teams will head to quarter-finals. Rest two teams in the pool will qualify for playoffs.
