Euro 2020 qualification is now in full swing, as Portugal look to defend their title following the victory back in 2016. This saw them beat hosts France in the final 1-0 in extra time, inside the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
Here we cover the current Euro 2020 qualification.
GROUP A
England are the overwhelming favourites to top Group A, as they face off against the Czech Republic, Kosovo, Bulgaria and Montenegro. They have already made a very strong start in the group stages, that includes a 5-0 victory over the Czech Republic in the opening fixture. Defending champions Portugal have been drawn in Group B and face off against Ukraine, Serbia, Luxembourg and Lithuania. Germany have made a strong start to qualification, that includes a 3-2 victory over the Netherlands.
GROUP D
Switzerland are the favourites to top Group D and have been drawn against Denmark, Republic of Ireland and Georgia. ROI have made a strong start to the group and at present it looks wide open. This includes a 1-1 drawn between Denmark and Ireland back in June.
GROUP E
Group E sees recent beaten World Cup finalists Croatia, take on Slovakia, Wales, Hungary and Azerbaijan. Croatia are the strong favourites to progress through as winners and remain one of the leading sides to pick up the trophy next year. They were however beaten by Hungary in qualification back in March.
GROUP F
Spain are the strong favourites to top Group F, as they face off against Sweden, Norway, Romania and Malta. They are amongst the favourites for the competition and are three time winners including twice in succession between 2008 and 2012. Spain have also made a strong start in qualification, that includes a 2-1 victory over Norway.
GROUP G
Poland are the strong favourites to top Group G and face off against Austria, Israel, Slovenia and Macedonia. They have made a very strong start in qualification, that includes winning their opening four fixtures without conceding a goal.
GROUP H
Recent World Cup winners France head is as the team to beat and favourites for Euro 2020. They have been drawn in Group H against Turkey, Iceland, Albania, Andorra and Moldova. It will be a major shock were they not to top the group, with their main challenge likely to come from Turkey. The latter beat them 2-0 back on matchday three.
GROUP I
Belgium recently finished third at the World Cup in Russia and will again be amongst the favourites to pick up the Euro 2020 trophy next year. They have been drawn in Group I against Russia, Kazakhstan, Scotland, Cyprus and San Marino. Belgium as expected have made a strong start in qualification, that includes consecutive 3-0 victories over Kazakhstan and Scotland.
GROUP J
The final Group sees the resurgent Italy take on Finland, Armenia, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Liechtenstein. Italy are the overwhelming favourites to top the group as they look to improve following their failure to qualify for the World Cup in Russia. They are also a popular outside selection by many punters for the title next year. Italy have made a very strong start to qualification, that includes a 6-0 victory over Liechtenstein.
