World number 1 Novak Djokovic has beaten Roger Federer in the final of 2015 BNP Paribas Open to claim his fourth title of Indian Wells Masters. This is Serbian player’s 50th ATP Tour title in his career. Djokovic defeated Federer by 6-3, 6-7(5-7) and 6-2 to win consecutive Indian Wells title.
Last year also both these players met in the final of BNP Paribas Open which was also won by Novak Djokovic by beating Switzerland’s Roger Federer. Hene winning 2015 tournament, Djokovic has successfully defended the title.
After winning 50th title, Djokovic said, “I believe that I have to earn everything that I do, and this title today, as well. I appreciate every moment that I spend on the court. Of course the milestone that I achieved today was a great motivation for me prior to this event.”
Novak Djokovic took 2 hours and 17 minutes to take revenge of last month’s Dubai Tennis Open final defeat from Federer. This was 38th meeting between these two champion players and Federer was leading with 20-17 score in previous 27 matches, but winning this final Djokovic has reduced the margin and now Roger is leading with 20-18.
“It’s great that I managed to win this match in the big tournament and to win it in a way that I felt like I was the better player on the court. That definitely will help. It’s going to give me confidence, not just for future matches that I play against him, but just for Miami and the rest of the season,” Djokovic added.
