Mzansi Super League (MSL) is a professional Twenty20 league launched by Cricket South Africa in 2018 to give country’s youngsters a platform to develop and improve their game. However CSA announced T20 Global League in 2017 but it couldn’t take place and was scrapped. Hence South Africa board launched MSL league.
Six franchise based teams to compete in the first edition of Mzansi Super League which is scheduled to play from 16 November to 16 December. Six cities will be hosting 32 matches of the competition.

Venues
There are six venues that will be hosting matches of MSL twenty20. Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Paarl, Port Elizabeth and Centurion to host South African t20 league. Opening match of inaugural MSL is set to be played at Newlands cricket ground in Cape Town.

Each participating team in MSL was permitted to choose one South African marquee player and one international marquee player ahead of the players draft that took place on 17th October. A total of 16 players each team contains for the inaugural edition of Mzansi Super League.

Prize Money
Cricket South Africa board announced a total prize money pool of R10 million for the inaugural edition of MSL T20 championship. Winner to receive R7 million while runner-up to take R2.5 million at home. Players of the series will be earning R 100,000 as prize award money while each man of the match to be awarded R 15000.
Broadcasting Rights
South Africa Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) secured the official broadcast rights of Mzansi Super League first season.
