Bangladesh chased 318 easily to beat Scotland by 6 wickets

Bangladesh cricket team has beaten Scotland comprehensively by 6 wickets in 27th match of 11th ICC world cup. Bangladesh tigers chased down a total of 318 score with 11 balls remaining. Scotland batsman Kyle Coetzer was declared Player of the Match for his brilliant knock of 156 in 134 balls. Tamim Iqbal was the highest run scorer for Bangladesh as he made 95 in 100 balls.

Winning the toss Bangladesh chose to ball first and they got good start as BAN dismissed two top order batsmen on just 38 runs in 10 overs. After this Machan and Coetzer re-built the innings and took team’s total past 100 in 22nd over. Scotland lost third wicket on 116 when Rahman dismissed Machan. After this Kyle Coetzer and Captain Mommsen built partnership to take Scotland team towards respectable total.

Scotland made 318 runs after completion of 50 overs. In the chase of 318 Bangladesh got bad start as Soumya Sarkar was caught behind after scoring just 2 runs. After this Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah added 139 runs for the second wicket partnership to keep Bangladesh in the chase. Wardlaw took Mahmudullah’s wicket in 24th over when he was batting on 62.

Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim once again built useful partnership for Bangladesh as both added 57 runs for third wicket. Davey took Tamim Iqbal’s wicket and he was given LBW on 95. Mushfiqur Rahim also returned to pavilion after scoring 60. At the end of innings, Shakib Al Hasan and Sabir Rahman confirmed Bangladesh’s win. Shakib hit the winning runs and he made 52 in 41 balls.
