Bangladesh cricket team has won their opening match of 2015 cricket world cup against Afghanistan at Manuka Oval in Canberra. They defeated Afghanistan by 105 runs margin to start world cup campaign with a big margin win. Mushfiqur Rahim was declared man of the match for his brilliant innings of 71 runs in 56 balls.

At one stage Bangladesh was struggling as they lost 4 wickets on 119 score in 30 overs. Top 4 Bangladesh batsmen couldn’t provide quick start as Afghanistan bowlers were bowling pretty well. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim started to play attacking cricket and took the charge at Afghanistan’s bowling attack.

Both batsmen scored their individual fifties and Bangladesh crossed 200 runs mark in 41st over. Hamid Hassan took Shakib Al Hasan’s crucial wicket in the 45th over as he could be very dangerous at the depth of the innings. Shakib made 63 in 51 balls. Bangladesh also lost Mushfiqur Rahim in the 48th over. After this BAN got succeed to play full over but the whole team got all out after scoring 267.

It was great chance for debutant Afghanistan team to win the match but their batting was not so good as their bowling and fielding was. In the chase of 268 target, Afghanistan lost top order three batsmen in first 3 overs on the score of 3. Nawroz Mangal and Shenwari tried built long partnership but they couldn’t contribute more than 62 runs for the 4th wicket partnership.

Mangal made 27. After captain Mohammad Nabi and Shenwari started to capitalize and got some momentum. But Shenwari got run out when Afghanistan was on 78 in 26 overs. He contributed 42 runs. Nabi tried to keep going on with the lower order batting but it didn’t happen and whole team got all out in 43 overs after making 162.

Nabi made 44 in 43 balls.

Bangladesh won the match by 105 runs.
