Cricket Australia has announced final squad for upcoming cricket world cup 2015. Michael Clarke is appointed Australian team captain though he is not currently fit. Australia to play their opening game for world cup against England on 14 February.
Michael Clarke is not completely fit for the tournament but Cricket Australia has given chance him to prove his fitness before the main event begins. He is one of the key players in Australian team. George Bailey will lead Aussies if Clarke fails to prove his fitness and unable to world cup to be hosted at their home with co-hosts New Zealand.

National selection panel chairman Rod Marsh said, “Captain Michael Clarke will lead our World Cup campaign should he recover from his injury. He is one of the world’s best batsmen and we want to give him every chance to prove his fitness for a tournament as important as this one.”
“Our medical staff are pleased with his progress following hamstring surgery in December and he continues to undergo thorough rehabilitation work with a view to being ready to play an important role in the World Cup.”
Michael Clarke has to prove his fitness before 21st February when Australia to take on Bangladesh in their second game of world cup. If he fails to be fit before 21 Feb, he’ll be replaced in Australia world cup squad.
“We have said that if Michael has not recovered by our second match of the tournament against Bangladesh on 21 February, we will replace him in the squad. He understands that and is working tirelessly with medical staff to get back to fitness,” Marsh said.
Glenn Maxwell, Xavier Doherty, Steve Smith will be the spin bowling options in Australia world cup 2015 team with Xavier front line spinner.

Marsh added, “Xavier is a reliable spin bowler who we know can perform well in the 50-over format. We also have other spin options in Glenn Maxwell , Steve Smith and Michael Clarke if required.”
