A Charity match between “Help for Heroes XI” and “Rest of The World XI” is going to take place on 17th September at The Kia Oval in England. It will be a twenty20 game which will be played to raise the money for the ongoing support of wounded, injured and sick service personnel and their families.
England’s former captain and current director in cricket board, Andrew Strauss will be leading ‘Help for Heroes XI’ team in the match whereas New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum to lead ‘Rest of The World XI’. Sir Ian Botham is appointed as the manager of Help for Heroes XI whereas Sunil Gavaskar will be managing Rest of The World XI.
Top cricketers from around the globe will be participating in the match. West Indies legend Brian Lara, Australia’s Matthew Hayden, South Africa’s Graeme Smith and Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene will play under McCullum’s captaincy.
In Help for Heroes team, India’s Virender Sehwag and MS Dhoni, South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs, Australia’s Damien Martin and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi will be playing the match.
