The 11th edition of cricket world cup has been kicked-off today at Christchurch with an opening ceremony. There were several ICC officials, all participating 14 teams, captains, New Zealand Prime Minister were present in the opening event party of ICC world cup 2015.
New Zealand Prime minister John Key was pleased on this prestigious occasion and happy that country got a wonderful opportunity to host such kind of mega event. Mr. John also mentioned in the ceremony that authorities are keen about players security and we give our best to provide comfort during the competition.
John Key said, “The authorities obviously take security very seriously when we’re hosting an international event like the Cricket World Cup. All the relevant agencies have been working on that for quite some time and I’m very confident that they know what they’re doing and they’ve got the best security measures in place.”
All 14 captains were present in New Zealand for the opening ceremony of 2015 cricket world cup. India and Pakistan captains were standing together in the program. Blackcaps captain Brendon McCullum mentioned that it will be great for us to play in home conditions and this world cup is wide open and anybody can win it.
He said, “having the first game of the World Cup here in Christchurch after all it’s been through is fantastic. I think it’s a wide open World Cup. The nature of wickets we’ll see in Australia and New Zealand are pure wickets and that brings in the match-winners.

Every team has match-winners and they can turn the game in 10 or 15 overs.”
Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews said, “going to be a tough contest, it’s going to be an even contest and whoever plays the best cricket will win.”
South Africa never won cricket world cup and their captain AB De Villiers is desperate to win the cup this time and take it to home. Ab de Villiers said, “we’re as well prepared as we can be and we look forward to taking the trophy home.”
The inaugural match of ICC world cup 2015 is scheduled to be played on 14 February at Hagley Oval in Christchurch in which hosts New Zealand to take on 2011 world cup finalist Sri Lanka.
