Australia captain Michael Clarke ruled out from first match of world cup 2015 against England.

Australia Captain Michael Clarke is set to miss opening game of cricket world cup 2015 as he wants to return in International cricket with full fitness. Head Coach Darren Lehmann mentioned that he is fit to play first match against England but we don’t want to take any chance, hence he given rest a bit and will play Australia’s second match of world cup against Bangladesh.

Lehmann said, “He’s very keen to play. But we’ve got to make sure when he gets back he’s ready to go and he will be come Saturday week. Everyone was sitting around talking about it and making sure we make the right decision.

“He just had a chat. He’s respectful of what we’re trying to do to get him right We would have loved to have him available for this first game, but we’re making sure he’s 100 per cent ready to go for Bangladesh,” he added.

Recently Clarke played warm-up match against United Arab Emirates and scored 64 runs at over strike rate of 100. He looked in great touch and fit as well. Darren Lehmann also said that Michael could be a key part-time spinner for Australia in the tournament and he can bowl at some stage of the match.

“It’s making sure he gets into the fielding side of it in the next week and just ticks that off. We’re going to stick with the plan and he’ll play against Bangladesh. He’s a very astute leader in that regard. When he comes back he’ll bowl, depending on the situation of the game.”

Australia has won 4 cricket world cups already and they will be eyeing to lift fifth one and first at their home.
