Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has said that Vivo IPL 2020 edition can be played without crowds in the stadium. As per his interview to ANI, former Indian captain said that BCCI working closely with all respective authorities including government to make sure cash rich t20 league happens this year.
ICC hold their decision about t20 world cup whether tournament will take place or not and if it doesn’t happen, BCCI would definitely like to use that window to organize the league. “We are optimistic and the BCCI will shortly decide on the future course of action on this,” Ganguly said.
Sri Lanka and UAE have proposed Indian cricket board to organize the mega t20 league in their country and BCCI have to make sure things work for them as concern for players.
“The BCCI is working on all possible options to ensure that we are able to stage the IPL this year, even if it means playing the tournament in empty stadiums. The fans, franchisees, players, broadcasters, sponsors and all other stakeholders are keenly looking forward to the possibility of IPL being hosted this year.

If IPL 2020 happens to be in India, then coronavirus situation should be under control even though governing council decides to host it in September, October or maybe November.
“The BCCI is in the process of developing a COVID-19 Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) for all State Cricket Associations. Essentially this SOP is being made with a view of providing our Members with a standard set of guidelines which will help the associations to resume cricket in their respective areas,” Sourav added further.
