Socceroos has won their first title of AFC Asian Cup today at Stadium Australia when they defeat South Korea in the final match. This was Australia’s third appearance in Asian Football Confederation’s tournament and they were playing their successive Asian Cup final. They got defeat in 2011 final but today they finally claim the title and become champions of Asia.
Massimo Luongo and James Troisi were the stars for Socceroos tonight as both scored one-one goal in the crucial final. Luongo hit the goal in 45th minute of match and guide Australian team to take lead 1-0. Kangaroos maintained their lead till the 90th minute of game. As match went into added time, South Korean star Son Heung-min scored his third goal of the tournament and crucial goal in the final for Korea in terms of match conditions.
Shoulders were almost down but Son’s goal light up Korea Republic camp and now the final was in extra time with teams are at 1-1 level. It was great final with excitement and more excitement came when James Troisi scored the winning goal for Socceroos. He scored the goal in 105th minute. Korean strikers tried hard to level the score but Australian defenders were to up to the mark and they didn’t allow Korean side to score the goal.
South Korea didn’t concede single goal before this match but Socceroos were at their best to lift the Asian Cup 2015. United Arab Emirates footballer Ali Mabkhout wins the golden boot award as he has scored maximum individual goals in the competition.
