International Cricket Council has revoked their decision of not using super over in a tie world cup final match. In today’s ICC board of meeting, ICC committee has reinstated the use of super over in a cricket world cup final match tie situation to decide the winner of tournament. This decision will be applicable on all ICC major events including 2015 cricket world cup.

This now replicates the arrangements for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 final and other recent ICC events where a winner will be determined on the day of the final (weather permitting), and a Super Over was the most credible way to separate the two sides,” ICC said in a media release.
ICC also declares that captains facing slow over-rate in a series will be able to play ICC world cups/events and they are free to lead the side. But if they get ban during a cricket world cup match due to slow over-rate they’ll have to face the fine and will not face the next match as per ICC rules and code of conducts. ICC has made some changes in the code of conducts.

In a release International Cricket Council said, “ICC Board also approved a change to the application of ICC Code of Conduct offences relating to slow over-rates in ICC events so that captains do not carry any prior minor over-rate offence ‘strikes’ or over-rate suspensions from other series into an ICC event.”
“This approval means all captains will enter the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 with no over-rate ‘strikes’ against their names, and they will only be suspended from playing in an ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match if over-rate offences are committed during the event. Any over-rate ‘strikes’ incurred prior to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will be carried forward to the first bilateral series after the event.”
ICC also announced schedules for major events taken to place from 2015 to 2019.
