FIFA has lifted 4 international matches ban from Barcelona star Lionel Messi on 4th May 2017. With Messi’s ban removal, Argentina gets breathe and can now fight better in 2018 World Cup qualifiers to seal spot in 21st edition of FIFA World Cup next year.

In the release, FIFA mentioned that available evidences were not found to be sufficient to impose such ban on Argentina skipper. On Argentinian Football Association’s appeal on the behalf of player, FIFA Disciplinary Committee took the decision and lift all the bans from Lionel Messi.

On 28 March 2017, it was found that Messi abused assistant referee during world cup qualifier match against Chile. However Argentina won that match by 1-0.

Lionel Messi will now be available for the selection in Argentine side and will play against Uruguay, Venezuela and Peru. He already missed the match against Bolivia which Argentina lost by 2-0.
