Madison Keys defeated Venus Williams to enter her first grand slam semifinal.

Keys said, “It’s amazing. I was very nervous coming out. The moment is definitely sweeter having to play Venus. So I am very happy that I’m in the quarterfinals. I’m really just looking forward to the next match.”

“I’m just really excited. I think it’s a huge opportunity for me. I haven’t been in this situation before. I’m going to make the most of it.

But at the same time no matter what, I’m not really going to be satisfied with any win. I want to be at the end of the tournament holding the trophy up. That’s my goal in the long run,” she added.

Venus Williams was sad after the defeat but she had enough guts to say losses are good and it has taught me to come up with some good performance in future.

Venus said, “Losses like this are good. Even though they’re not fun. I’ll learn from it. She played really well. It was her moment. I couldn’t string together 3 or 4 points without an error. Next time I’ll be more solid.”
